Arup Associates was commissioned (in collaboration with Rocco Design and Arup) to design Hong Kong Station—in effect, two stations serving the airportand commuter trains, arranged on nine levels, four of them below ground. Amain hall serves the airport express services, a street level space 106m longand 23m high. To the north, it is enclosed by a great wall of glass, with viewsof the city.

At the time of its construction, this was the largest independently supportedglass wall in the world, completely frameless and supported on 18 bowstringtrusses. Despite site constraints in one of the world’s most crowded cities,natural light is funneled into the depths of the building.

Arup Associates受托担任本项目设计（和香港许李严建筑师事务所及奥雅纳合作）——实际上，有两个车站用于为机场和通勤列车提供服务，车站分九层，其中四层位于地下。车站的焦点是其位于地面的主厅，专为机场快线服务，长106米，总高23米，宽敞明亮。大厅北立面由玻璃幕墙组成，可透过玻璃看到市区。

该墙是建造时全球最大的独立式无框玻璃幕墙，由18根弓弦式桁架支撑。考虑到香港是全球最为拥挤的城市之一，该工程将自然光引入地底的方法，堪称其最重要的成就之一。
